Lidia Villalobos

Lidia Villalobos is an artisan with a passion for garments made with alpaca wool and yarn spun from these noble animals. Her life has been intertwined with weaving since she was a girl, growing up among alpacas and learning the secrets of this ancestral art from a very young age. Over time, that connection became her unstoppable passion for creating garments that not only reflect the beauty and quality of alpaca wool, but also honor the dedication and legacy of previous generations.

Each thread she uses tells a story and each garment she makes carries the essence of her love for this craft, a homage to the beauty of alpacas and the magic of weaving. Every day she is motivated by her mother’s legacy, as she is the only of seven siblings who dedicated herself to alpaca handicrafts.

Lidia comes from General Lagos, an area in the Parinacota province that depends on alpaca ranching. Here, the animals are cared for as they have been for centuries, using herbs instead of drugs.
